When it comes to a beer with a meal one of my favorite styles has always been a good ol Lager, and thankfully when having lunch at Lod Pivovar this one was in the tasting flight to give a go. So, right when you get a good whiff of this beer you are pretty immediately hit with a very malty, bready aroma that also has a little bit clover to it. Then once you take a sip you are hit with this hoppy bitterness, but this soon leads to some lovely tastes of bread and herbs. You also may get an interesting hint of apple and caramel which I wasn’t really expecting. As for the finish it’s decently long with a noticeably bitter hoppy tail to it all. Now as for how this pairs with food, I know it went very well with my beer cooked sausages and peppers that I had at the brewery. But I can also see this going very well with anything from a nice bowl of chili to some delicious barbeque. In the end I was very pleased with this particular beer, so much so that I couldn’t just be satisfied with the small amount from the flight and had to get a full pint to enjoy. So if you find yourself in Prague I would certainly suggest that you check out Lod Pivovar and this wonderful beer.
