This is an old review I wrote for another site
I’ll admit I thought that this might be a flop of a wine when I first saw it. Even though I love Muscadine wines I am not a big fan of blush style wines. I will have to say though that this one surprised me a bit and though I may not have loved this wine, I certainly didn’t hate it. When you open it up you’re pretty quickly hit by a variety of aromas to sift through. Probably the most prominent of these was a sweet berry aroma that I couldn’t quite make out but did find somewhat appealing. You also get a hint of fruit in the aroma along with some subtle floral notes along with that stronger berry smell. Once you take the first sip you’re struck by that berry yet again, though this time it’s a bit more noticeable and may even be cherry. You also get a slight honey taste to the wine, or at least what I think may be honey. Generally I don’t like blush wines because they’re just so intensely sweet, this one though I am happy to report is not (it’s more of a semi-sweet). Besides being semi-sweet it is also quite a smooth and easy drinking wine that I think stands well on its own, as I had it. Though if you want food with it I think it would go great with spicier foods or even a chocolaty dessert. If you are a fan of Blush or Rose wines I think you should enjoy this as well as if you like sweeter whites. So, don’t be afraid, give it a go like I did.
