Castillo Red – San Sebastian Winery – St. Augustine, FL

This is an old review I wrote for another site

This was one of the wines that I enjoyed quite a bit from my tour at the San Sebastian Winery. Once the Castillo Red was poured into the glass you could really tell the beautiful deep purplish red colour of this wine. After getting a good look at it you just couldn't help but put your nose right in the tasting glass to get good smell. And thankfully you are not disappointed with some really nice smell of spice as well as a light smell of oak. As for the taste, those great smells carried over quite nicely and quite subtly, much to my pleasure as I prefer more subtle wines. Now unfortunately I didn't have this wine with any food as it was a tasting, but I do believe that this wine would go absolutely wonderfully with a nice steak. This was a very enjoyable wine and I am fairly confident that if you like a nice Cabernet Sauvignon then you should definitely give this wine a try.
