This is an old review I wrote for another site
With the heat outside it is indeed summer and what better wine to enjoy it with then a nicely chilled Rose (which I have been drinking more of recently for that reason). And when it comes to Rose this particular one is now one of my favourites, and one that’s all the way from New York. When you open up a bottle of this you are pretty quickly hit with the fabulous aromas that really bring you into this wine. The first smell I got with this was that of lovely fragrant flowers, what kind I’m unsure but I can assure you that they are quite pleasant. After that you get this nice hint of fruit, mostly berry and melon I believe. Then once you take your first sip of this you are reintroduced to the fruits from above and this time, for me, it seems to be raspberry. You also get this interesting earthiness to the wine, which I don’t normally get from Rose. The finish is also quite nice and smooth, though I must say I wish it would have stayed with me a bit longer (I do love those lingering wines). As for food, I had this wine nicely chilled with a BLT and it went wonderfully. And I would guess that this Rose would go well with things like Chicken Cacciatore or even a Calzone. Overall this really does make for a great summer wine that I think would be perfect for barbecues and picnics. And its price point is pretty low so it really is something I don’t think you should pass up, especially if you are a fan of Rose wines or even lighter merlots.
