This is an old review I wrote for another site
Ah Rhode Island, such a small state with an equally small wine industry but one that produces some really tasty wines. This Chardonnay from Langworthy is definitely no exception to this as it is really quite a lovely white wine. Once you open up a bottle of this Chardonnay and get a good whiff of the aroma you, are instantly hit by some great smells. The first and most prominent that I noticed, was this intriguing aroma of oak. Normally I’m weary with this much oak in the smell but this one was quite pleasing. After that, you also get some interesting hints of fruit that I believe might be pear and a bit of apple. Then, after you take your first sip, you get hit by those fruit smells from above popping up in the flavour. You also get a hint of melon and this wonderfully smooth, light, buttery after taste that really just seems to bring it all together. As for food pairings, I had this with a nice grilled chicken and assorted vegetable dinner and it was quite nice. I also believe that this would go well with some nice crab cakes or even some Caribbean cuisine. So, if you are a fan of Chardonnays of any kind or even wines like Pinot Grigio and Viognier I think you will like this wine. And, come on its only $15. You’d be crazy to pass up a deal of a wine like this.
